Timisoara is a very poor town in the heart of Romania where most of the young have left for greener fields. The result is a high population of elderly people, who have no support from the Government and no extended family. Many of these live alone and have serious debilitating diseases, which malnutrition or near starvation has caused.

Their weakness prevents them from leaving the hovels they call home. The sisters that work with us have been trying to bring help to these unfortunates and give them treatment in impossible conditions. So we built a “Divine Mercy Hospice for the Dying” where these poor people can die with some degree of dignity and comfort with the attention of the sisters.
